A May Day of Design Inspiration
Fashion and textile designer Georgina Von Etzdorf gave a
fascinating talk on her colourful career and how she
seeks out creative inspiration. Cheltenham based print maker
Jenny Stringer, who designed 'Floreat' from Lewis &
Wood's Wit & Wisdom collection gave a practical and
insightful description into the process of fabric design, and
nobody went hungry as a delicious Cotswold lunch cooked and
hosted by food writer and TV presenter of 'The Great British
Menu' Matthew Fort provided a welcome break from the day's
creative activity. In the afternoon everyone enjoyed the chance
to have a go at block printing in the studio as novices and
experts designed their own handprinted tea towel to take away.
Stuart Lewis, our wonderful decorator gave an illuminating talk
on the advantages of wide width wallpaper and expertly covered a
whole wall of the warehouse in Jasper Peony which was very
impressive. "We have a fantastic space here and the
studio provided a wonderful opportunity for our customers to
learn more about the process and art of fabric
design," said Stephen Lewis who is planning to build on
the success of this initial event with a series of Autumn
events, including quilt, curtain making, and upholstery
workshops. To register interest please email showroom@lewisandwood.co.uk or
